our sweet retreat...

my favorite house project yet. this is a room above our carriage house that was completely unfinished.  i had such a passion about making this into a guest retreat and we finally started the project this past summer.  and really it has turned into so much more… a special retreat for us as well.

here are all the details…

for the little kitchenette area i just purchase this island from ikea.  had my plumber (my uncle…gotta love that) install the vessel sink and faucet on top.  it's perfect and was so inexpensive to do.

the little yellow one cup keurig… perfect size for this space.

it's all in the details… love this ikea cart for the guest snacks/treats/drinks.

the sweet books, candles and garland i found all at anthroplogie. 

the little animals i found at anthro during christmas… 

oh my sugarboo, sugarboo, sugarboo… you know just what i always want to say…

we put this itty bitty bath in… and i had to find the smallest toilet & sink possible… 

yummy shampoo & conditioner for guests is a must.

all the sweet bedding is from anthropologie. except for the sweet throw my mama made me.

pillows are anthro… and dreams are free pillow is sugarboo.

the door is actually a mint color which is hard to see.  it is chalk paint… a.m.a.z.i.n.g. to work with.  i just painted then went back and rubbed the edges with a wet rag and it comes right off where you want it to.  then seal it.  awesome awesome stuff.

i can't tell you how happy i am with the decision to leave the walls natural~ rather then stained or painted.  it makes it so incredibly cozy.

mugs & antler bottle opener are all anthro. heart pillow is sugarboo. and the throw is anthro. sweet little curtain is from anthropologie as well.  dream catcher is from this sweet etsy shop.

had my handy dandy guy make this barn door.  i knew i needed something that didn't swing and take up a lot of room.

and lastly… a pic of the outside~ i'll have to post another in the spring when everything gets pretty again.
